Polling Centre Boost for City Centre Residents

Polling Station

Anthony McCaul, Manchester Labour’s Candidate for City Centre Ward, has welcomed the news that Manchester City Council are to increase the number of polling stations in the City Centre.

Anthony and City Centre Residents’ Labour have been campaigning within Manchester Labour to increase the number of polling stations within the City Centre.

Anthony said:

“In the past residents living in Castlefield or the Oxford Road area have had to walk all the way to the Town Hall to cast their vote in person. That’s not good enough.

It's great news that the City Centre will get new polling stations. Increasing turnout in the City Centre and getting more residents involved in the running of the City Centre is something I'm passionate about. I'm pleased that, by constructively engaging with colleagues we've been able to deliver and make voting easier for City Centre residents."

The Council are still deciding on exactly where to place the new polling stations within the City Centre. If you’ve got a suggestion on where you think the polling station should be sited in your area e-mail Anthony at anthony@citycentrelabour.org.uk or text him with your suggestion, name and postcode on 0781 309 2040.
