   CONCLUSION

CONCLUSION

The healthiest, wealthiest, safest, greenest, best-educated & most vibrant City in Britain needs the best services. We will have the aim of engaging a larger proportion of Manchester's population in health promoting leisure and sport activities.

It is people who deliver services and Manchester Labour is committed to ensuring that the Labour Council maintains the best possible employment practices to ensure that its workforce is highly motivated and flexible. We will aim to draw up a local ‘Warwick’ agreement between the Labour Council & affiliated Trades Unions which will establish a modern industrial relations framework for the City Council. We want more Manchester people to work for the Council and will vigorously implement the Manchester Employment Plan to make sure that this happens.

But we will make sure that this does not cost you the earth.  The Labour Council has not raised Council Tax by more than the rate of inflation for 9 consecutive years.  This means that Manchester City Council now has one of the lowest Council Tax levels in the country and Manchester Labour is committed to keeping it that way.  We want good value services delivered to the people of Manchester by the people of Manchester.
